House Style

The Metro is a tabloid newspaper, tabloid newspapers have many stereotypes attached to their House style. The Metro has some similarities to the classic tabloid style of newspaper. For example the Metro newspaper does have a quite bald layout on each of the pages using quite bald fonts such as the corbid typeface which make the text stick out from all the other pieces of text on the page of the newspaper, the text is also very easy to read for the audience. The newspaper also has many images which might create shock value. The langue used in the newspaper is also quite informal which makes it a comfortable read for the readers. They also include many short and small articles on many pages which can be read very fast by the readers. The paper also includes many images within the newspaper which keep the reader engaged in the newspaper while they are reading it. Keeping them reading the newspaper means they also see more adverts which makes the Metro the most money.

Their fonts which are used for on every page are bald and very easy to read for the reader while they are on the tube, at this it could be hard to read on the tube due to the constant movement but due to the bald and large text it makes it easy for the reader to read the newspaper even if there is a lot of movement on the tube. The titles are also straight to the point and make the readers want to find out more about the subjects which than makes them go through all the pages and look at the other articles and adverts attracting them.

The Metro uses three main colors Blue, white and read in the newspaper which are used on the Masthead and in other places of the newspaper such as adverts and articles and images. These three colors also represent the British Flag showing us that the newspaper is patriarchal and respects its nation and the people. There are also puns which are used within the titles as well as the text.
